Advanced Search Engine Marketing Training:*
- Table of Contents
- The Advanced Training material is provided in 8 comprehensive lessons.
- Begin class at any time, and take up to 16 weeks to complete the Advanced Training.
- Advanced Search Engine Marketing Training students will learn tips and strategies for positioning their Web pages in over 50 major search engines and directories, as well as more advanced strategies not covered in the Essential Foundations Training.
- The Essential Foundations Training does not teach HTML. A basic knowledge of HTML and the Web is needed in order to benefit from the SEM Training.
- Expanded Advanced Training Description
*Students enrolling in the Advanced Training need to have completed the Academy's Essential Foundations of Search Engine Marketing Training or have passed a prerequisite exam with at least 80% accuracy. The Advanced Training does not teach basic search engine promotion skills, which is why it is crucial you already have basic Web site positioning training. To take the Prerequisite Exam for entry into the Advanced Search Engine Marketing Training, click here. Again, graduates of the Essential Training do not need to take the prerequisite exam. |

Our Advanced Training consists of 8 comprehensive lessons and a final exam. Students can complete the SEM Training in their own timeframe, finishing it in a month or two if they choose, or take the full 16 weeks available to work on the material.
The Advanced Training is designed to pick up where the Essential Foundations Training ends, and covers over 50 major search engines and directories as well as a number of advanced search engine positioning strategies. You'll learn work arounds for problem strategies such as database-generated sites and Flash, and you'll learn whether responsible cloaking is something you should consider or not, and why.
Chat sessions are offered at numerous times every week for Academy students, and special sessions and research are frequently conducted for professional search engine optimizers. Academy students can test drive free trial versions of software, including Search Engine Optimizer (SEO) and Keyword Density Analyzer (KDA).
Participants who complete all SEM Training and certification requirements are eligible to earn Continuing Education Units* from the University of Southern Mississippi and certification in advanced search engine marketing strategies.

*Important Note:
If you would like to earn Continuing Education Units, you must pay $25 per CEU to USM prior to beginning a SEM Training. Absolutely NO CEUs can be awarded to anyone after the SEM Training begins.
In other words, you'll register for the SEM Training itself here through the Academy, but you need to go through USM to request and pay for the CEUs before you begin taking the classes. For more details, see our Continuing Education Units page. |
