In other words, you'll pay for your course through the Academy, but you'll pay for the CEUs themselves through USM. Or, you can register for our courses directly through USM and pay the entire amount to the university.

As a result, our graduates can proudly display a certification seal on their Web site as proof of their qualifications and we, of course, are glad to provide recommendations for our graduate students as well.

To earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from The University of Southern Mississippi and certification from the Academy, the following course requirements must be met:

• All homework assignments must be completed and turned in by the final deadline of the course;
  
  
• Class participation proving knowledge learned and applied must be met;
  
  
• Students are required to review a page of source code and point out what's right and what's wrong with the page;
  
  
• A final exam must be taken and passed with at least 80% accuracy; and
  
  
• Web marketing students must participate in our Certification Project, which is outlined below. Other students will have a similar project to complete.

Certification Project

In order to earn certification and continuing education units (CEUs),* Academy students are required to participate in a certification project. Students are assigned a real-life page and asked to offer suggestions for boosting the page's rankings.

*Important Note: If you want to earn Continuing Education Units, you must register and pay $25 per CEU to USM prior to beginning the course. Absolutely NO CEUs can be awarded to anyone after the course begins.

By paying the fee to the University, you will earn Continuing Education Units, as proudly displayed on a certificate, by The University of Southern Mississippi.

The University of Southern Mississippi CEUs are transcripted in the University Registrar's office and a cumulative record is kept for 20 years. Students may request an official CEU transcript by contacting the registrar's office and sending in the transcript fee of approximately $3.
